COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The field of infectious diseases has become increasingly visible to physicians and laymen alike owing to the emergence and re-emergence of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, pandemic influenza and infections caused by “superbugs” such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. New information evolves rapidly, making it difficult for the practicing physician to remain abreast of the latest developments. This course will provide the latest, practical, evidence-based information and expert opinion on the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of important infectious diseases likely to be encountered by the practicing physician. Lectures, case-based discussion and question and answer sessions will be delivered by nationally and internationally recognized leaders in infectious diseases. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet informally with lecturers and colleagues during break periods.
