Mission: New York Chapter 3
We’re pleased to announce that we now have a Chapter 3 video, “Why Chapter Membership Matters.” It was debuted at the AAP’s Annual Leadership Forum in Itasca, IL in March, and was featured in the AAP’s Chapter Leader Link earlier this week.
Thank you to all of our members who participated in the video, and especially to Dr. Julie Dunbar, for putting it together!

Welcome to the New York Chapter 3 Website
The American Academy of Pediatrics, founded in 1930, unites pediatricians throughout the Americas to ensure for all young people the attainment of their full potential for physical, emotional, and social health. To this end, the Academy dedicates its resources to professional education, advocacy for children, representation of pediatricians, public education, access to health care, and service to children.
Local AAP Chapters and the National AAP have a unique relationship of respect and autonomy. The American Academy of Pediatrics is composed of over fifty Chapters, organized into ten regional Districts. Chapters serve as the connection to members at the local level, working tirelessly to improve the lives of children and pediatricians in their state. Whereas most of these Districts cover multiple states, District II consists solely of New York State. It serves as the statewide focal point and is a coalition of AAP NY Chapters 1, 2, & 3. New York Chapter 3 is comprised of the New York City Boroughs of the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island, and the upstate counties of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester.
As a member of your local AAP Chapter, the NYS AAP – Chapter 3, representing over 1,700 pediatricians in 8 counties, your voice is united with over 4,300 pediatricians and pediatric specialists in the NYS AAP. Together, we have the power to make a difference!
