DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIRTUAL QUARTERLY BUSINESS MEETING\n\nPlease join us at our upcoming annual joint meeting. Attendees will hear about relevant pediatric issues from our local AAP Chapter and NYS AAP (District II) leaders. We are pleased to announce that our special guest speakers will be National AAP President-Elect Candidates\, Sandy L. Chung\, MD\, FAAP\, and Joseph L. Wright\, MD\, MPH\, FAAP.\n\nIf you would like to attend\, please e-mail Jessica Geslani at jgeslani@ny23aap.org.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPediatrician Dr. Sandy Chung has held over 30 state and national leadership positions\, including AAP Virginia Chapter President\, and serves as Medical Director of Informatics at Children’s National’s Pediatric Health Network and as CEO of Trusted Doctors\, a group of 120 pediatric clinicians in Virginia and Maryland. Her passionate advocacy for child health and the success of pediatricians has delivered major advancements in healthcare equity\, mental health\, EHR burden reduction\, appropriate payment\, physician well-being\, and optimal child health policies. She has appeared in the Washington Post\, Wall Street Journal\, and AAP News. Dr. Chung is the proud mother of four children.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoseph Wright\, MD\, MPH is Chief Medical Officer and professor of health policy within the University of Maryland Medical System\, previously serving as Chair of Pediatrics at Howard University\, and Senior VP at Children’s National Hospital both in Washington\, DC. He is in the original cohort of pediatric emergency physicians and has broadly contributed over 100 publications to the literature. Recognized with two AAP career achievement awards\, Dr. Wright chaired the Task Force on Addressing Bias and Discrimination\, and is a sitting Board member. He earned a BA from Wesleyan University\, MD from Rutgers University\, and MPH from George Washington University.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n
