SUMMARY:Advanced LARC Topics Training
DESCRIPTION:The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP) is pleased to present an exciting training opportunity for providers.  Building on introductory LARC didactic and hands-on insertion skills\, this program will focus on advanced LARC topics for providers.  This includes discussion of best practices for difficult and postpartum IUD insertions\, IUD placement techniques for women with stenotic os\, pain management techniques including utilization of paracervical block\, and comprehensive LARC counseling strategies. \nLearning Objectives (Part 1 & 2) \n\nReview LARC methods\nDescribe comprehensive counseling strategies\nDiscuss best practice and techniques for complex and postpartum IUD insertions\nApply counseling strategies for pain management during IUD insertion\nPerform steps in complex and postpartum IUD insertion techniques\nDetermine strategies for individualized patient follow-up\n\nTime: Total training time 6 hours.  1 hour lunch break can be arranged.  ARHP will provide food and refreshments.\nCME/CE: 3.0 credit hours\nAvailability: This training is available through December 31\, 2016.\nTraining Agenda\nPart 1 – LARC didactic case-based lecture\nAccredited by ARHP\n1 hour \nPart 2 – Hands-on IUD insertion practice\nAccredited by ARHP\n2 hours \nPart 3 – NEXPLANON® hands-on insertion training\nNon-accredited\n3 hours \n\nWill include Insertion\, removal and reinsertion training\nParticipants must provide NPI numbers.  It is Merck’s policy to verify all clinicians’ practice\, license\, and eligibility information in advance of the training.  Attendees are expected to attend the entire NEXPLANON® training which is approximately 3 hours in duration.\n\nContact\nFor more information or to schedule a training\, please contact Rana Suliman at rsuliman@arhp.org or 202-378-7449. \n
